Ever experienced a time where your back ached to the point where you felt like crying? Other than a woman’s monthly cycle, Identity L.A. made sure that my legs would be aching and my back would crying for a bench by the end of the day. May 6th, 2017 was the day of celebration for Asian Pacific Heritage Month. The event was held in front of City Hall with an assortment of food trucks that made your mouth salivate just by the whiffing  the air, and luckily, it was a free event. Identity L.A. presented the audience with different people performing their own music such as Us the Duo, Year of the Yox, and one of the most admired solo artist from Korea, Dean. The event, hosted by Far East Movement and WongFu Productions, started at five o’clock in the evening, but some people camped out in the rain just to be in the front row! The thrill and vibes of the audience were absolutely uplifting, excluding the part where you had no personal space. Everyone was pressed up against one another, and there reached a point where my cousin and I were frustrated when the headline of the concert wasn’t coming out on time. Dean eventually performed 30 minutes after he should have started, but I felt proud that around 5,000 people came to celebrate Asian Pacific Heritage Month. My neck and back were in pain, but my heart was in the game.
