Mrs. Pariso is a new eighth grade math teacher at Blackstock. She seems a very captivating and energetic teacher, so we decided to get to know her a little better.

“Hello,” we greeted her for the first time today.

“Hi,” she responded.

“What inspired you to be a teacher?” Ana asked.

“Ever since I was little, I wanted to be a teacher. My mom’s daycare had a lot of little kids and I loved to help them.”

“What is the best part of your job?”

“My favorite part about my job is to see the students learn and catch on to information. I love it when I see that, and it makes me feel proud of them and of myself for helping them.”

“What was your major in college?”

“I have a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and a Master’s degree in Education.”

“How long have you been teaching and where?

“This is my eleventh year teaching math. I used to teach in Central Valley for ten years.”

“Where do you see yourself five years from now?”

“Five years from now, I see myself going back to school to achieve my administrator’s credential or doctorate degree.”

“What do you feel is the hardest part of your job?”

“The hardest part of my job is helping students believe they can succeed. Some immediately think they can’t do it and I want to help them think they can.”

“Is there anything we didn’t ask that you would like us to know?”

“I am really happy to be here at Blackstock and I hope you’re happy to have me too.”

We truly are thrilled to have you here Mrs. Pariso!  Welcome to Blackstock.
