I’ve had the basic first ear lobe piercing on both ears since I was a baby, but I’ve always had the desire to get new piercings. I adored cartilage and second ear lobe piercings. I finally came to a conclusion I was getting my cartilage pierced on my left ear and second ear lobes pierced on both ears. Just recently, I came into a jewelry store in the Centerpoint Mall that were able to do piercings and got my ears bedazzled. When I walked in, there was a sweet lady who assisted me. I asked for what I wanted, she accepted my request and of course asked for my mother’s consent. She then popped out some temporary earrings and I chose out a small little diamond stud for my cartilage and slightly larger diamond studs for my second ear lobe piercings. I was led to a chair and she wiped down my ears with wet alcohol wipes. She got her piercing gun ready and marked dots on my ears in the designated area. In my opinion, I do recommend going to a professional when it comes to piercing any part of your body just for safety reasons. It starts off feeling like just a pinch, my ears became very hot and red and started to sting and tingle. My second piercings stopped hurting and were no longer red the next day. My cartilage on the other hand has still been hurting, but the pain is slowly decreasing more and more everyday and it is normal for your cartilage to take longer when it’s healing.

Tips to take care of your ears:

~clean with a sea salt soak that is iodide free.

  • ¼ tablespoon of sea salt
  • dissolve into warm clean water
  • get cotton ball or Q-tip rub softly on healing piercing

~attempt to sleep on one side or on your back if both ears are pierced. This will decrease the chance of infection and pain

The photo below looks exactly like my ears except on my right ear there is no cartilage piercing. I hope my advice and my experience was entertaining and useful. Love your ears and enjoy your lovely piercings!
